Twopan Pro SSD 2TB

Twopan's previous Kickstarter project, the Twopan Nano SSD, raised HK$1,651,452 from 1,774 backers in 2025 and, according to the source, shipped a month ahead of schedule. The Pro model builds on that drive with a longer feature list that reaches well beyond storage.

Storage, speed and security

The drive offers 2TB of capacity. The maker frames that as roughly 2,600 minutes of typical 4K video at about 750MB per minute, or around 20 to 40 Steam Deck titles at 50GB to 100GB each. Read and write speeds are quoted at up to 1050MB/s (10Gbps); by the maker's example, a 10GB 4K file moves in about 10 seconds, against more than 25 seconds on a conventional USB 3.0 SSD at around 400MB/s.

Access is controlled by what Twopan describes as patent-pending fingerprint encryption. A single touch unlocks the drive, with no passwords and no companion app to install, and the maker says data stays unreadable to others if the drive is lost.

Fan, display and magnets

Unusually for a pocket drive, the Pro SSD contains a quiet cooling fan that the maker says switches on automatically as temperatures rise during long transfers or extended AR glasses sessions. A 0.85-inch, 128×128 LCD shows real-time transfer speed, voltage, current, power draw, storage usage, SSD health status (life prediction) and device temperature, removing the need to check status through PC software. Built-in magnets make the drive MagSafe-compatible, so it can attach to an iPhone or MagSafe accessories such as stands.

Built for many devices

Taken together, Twopan pitches the Pro SSD 2TB as a hub for mobile creators and gamers: storing footage, powering a laptop or handheld, and driving an external screen from one compact device.
