Why it matters
KUULAA built VoltAir around a few familiar power bank frustrations: blinking LEDs that say little about remaining charge, ports that don't match your cables, and bulk that makes carrying one a chore. The team describes its concept as visible data in a body you barely notice, and says its engineers and designers bring experience from Huawei, Xiaomi and Foxconn.
A screen for the numbers
Instead of indicator lights, VoltAir uses a TFT display. The maker says it shows the remaining battery capacity as well as input and output power in real time, so you can see how much charge is left and how quickly a device is filling up, which is useful when topping up several gadgets or charging in a hurry.
Wireless and wired
The power bank pairs 15W Qi2 wireless charging with 20W PD wired output. KUULAA lists support for iPhone and Android phones as well as smaller gear such as wireless mice, Bluetooth earbuds and portable fans, and says it can also charge larger devices like a MacBook. Its 12N magnets are meant to keep it attached to an iPhone even when shaken, and a "snap and wake" behavior starts charging as soon as it is attached. Because it supports MagSafe and Qi2, the maker says it also works with Android phones that support those standards.
Key specifications, according to the maker
- Thickness: 9.8mm
- Weight: 114g
- Capacity: 5000mAh
- Wireless: 15W Qi2
- Wired: 20W PD output
