WooshX

A toiletry bag that opens flat to 180 degrees and closes with magnets instead of a zipper

Editor’s view

Why it matters

Toiletries scattered across a suitcase, or a bag that hides what you need at the shower's edge: these are the problems WooshX sets out to address. Developed by TRAVELAND, a company based in London, the bag was introduced through Kickstarter crowdfunding.

Opens like a suitcase

The maker's headline feature is a 180-degree full-opening design. Rather than peering into a zippered pouch, the bag opens out like a suitcase so its contents can be seen at a glance. It is designed to lie flat on a hotel vanity or in a shower area, an alternative to hanging-style bags, so small items are less likely to get buried.

Magnetic closure

Instead of zippers or buttons, WooshX uses what the maker calls a magnetic smart closure, which it says can be opened and closed with one finger. The campaign highlights that this works with wet hands, sidestepping the issue of damp zippers that stick in the bathroom.

Layered storage

  • Multi-layer interior divided into several zones for liquids such as shampoo and body wash, small items like toothbrushes and razors, and cosmetics
  • An independent waterproof pocket for damp items such as a wet toothbrush or used sponge
  • A wipe-clean, stain-resistant interior material intended to make spills easy to clean up

Sizes and colors

WooshX comes in three sizes and three colors. The maker positions the compact size for short trips and minimal packing, the medium for general travel and business trips, and the large for longer trips, family travel or those carrying more. The colors are described as subdued tones intended to suit any user.
