Arpodraw Micro Wallet

Paperwallet, a brand that says it has completed four successful Kickstarter projects and sold more than 100,000 wallets, built its Micro Wallet line around a minimal, slim format. The Arpodraw Micro Wallet is the newest entry, presented as a Kickstarter project featuring original designs by Arpodraw, a Switzerland-based artist whose signature medium is collage.

Art on a dollar-bill theme

Arpodraw's design reinterprets the 1-dollar bill through collage. According to the campaign, backers of the Kickstarter project also had the chance to obtain original Arpodraw artwork, including bill-sized prints limited to 300 pieces, a single original jumbo-sized bill artwork, and a framed piece containing three original artworks created for the Micro Wallet release. The maker says an invisible protective coating guards the printed design against fading and damage.

Slim by design

The maker says the wallet is only 0.01 inch (0.3 mm) thicker than a standard credit card, and roughly card-thin when empty, while expanding as needed to hold cards and cash. Paperwallet describes it as the world's slimmest wallet, a claim Modern-G has not verified.

• Credit-card size when closed; holds up to 8 cards, per the maker
• Clam-style opening designed to release cards with a twist of the wrist
• 4 card pockets, 2 of them quick-access, plus a separate cash compartment
• Maker recommends no more than 2 cards per pocket for longevity
• 360-degree RFID protection when closed
• Tyvek® body described as nearly tear-proof, abrasion-resistant and water-resistant

The RFID shielding, according to Paperwallet, is integrated into the wallet itself rather than added as a separate layer the user has to manage.
