Audiray X5

Home theater setups tend to sprawl: a projector, external speakers, a microphone, a streaming stick and the cables to tie them together. Audiray X5 is pitched as the answer to that clutter. According to the maker, it combines native 4K projection, 1,200 ANSI brightness, 60W stereo sound, dual wireless microphones, Wi-Fi 6 and a smart entertainment system in one device, so switching from a film to music to a karaoke session doesn't involve unpacking more hardware.

Picture and placement

The maker says the projector uses native 4K resolution and a 1.0:1 short-throw ratio, intended to put a large image on a wall in rooms where there isn't much distance to work with, such as bedrooms or studio apartments. Autofocus and keystone correction are included to handle sharpening and geometry after the unit is placed. Brightness is rated at 1,200 ANSI, which the campaign positions as suitable for casual viewing beyond a fully darkened room.

Sound, karaoke and streaming

Audio comes from built-in 60W stereo speakers, which the maker presents as a replacement for a separate speaker system. Two wireless microphones are supplied for solo singing or duets. On the software side, Google TV is built in for direct access to streaming content, and connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 for streaming and pairing with phones and other compatible devices.
