Dolphin Projector

Portable projectors usually force a trade-off between size, brightness and convenience. Dolphin Projector, presented as a Kickstarter project, aims to balance all three: according to the maker, it combines a 500 ANSI lumen light engine, Full HD 1080P resolution and built-in Google TV in a body roughly the size of a soda can.

Image and setup

The maker says the 500 ANSI lumen engine is designed to deliver vivid, sharp images even in daytime. Projection size can be adjusted from 15 inches up to 150 inches. Autofocus and keystone correction rely on TOF (time-of-flight) technology, which the maker says reduces setup effort in different environments.

Streaming, sound and power

Google TV is built in, giving access to more than 10,000 apps including Netflix and YouTube, according to the campaign, with Google Assistant voice control for playback and settings. Audio comes from dual 5W speakers with Dolby Audio support, and the maker describes the fan as ultra-quiet.

• 500 ANSI lumens brightness
• Full HD 1080P resolution
• 15 to 150 inch projection size
• TOF-based autofocus and keystone correction
• Google TV with Google Assistant
• Dual 5W speakers with Dolby Audio
• 10,000mAh battery, 2.5 hours of continuous use
• USB Type-C charging, including from portable batteries

A 10,000mAh battery provides 2.5 hours of continuous use, the maker says, and USB Type-C charging means it can be powered from a portable battery. The campaign positions it for living rooms, campsites, outdoor activities and presentations.
