Why it matters

NIID, a brand known for its modular bag series, built FINO V around a specific use case: riding an E-Bike through the city and walking away with your gear. The maker says the design draws on the experience and feedback of urban E-Bike riders, and that the bag works equally as a conventional messenger or shoulder bag.

Ride mode, town mode

According to the campaign, mounting straps on the back attach the bag to a bike's frame or rack, with measures intended to prevent wobble and shifting while secured. Off the bike, the shoulder strap extends so the bag can be carried cross-body. NIID frames this as switching between a "ride mode" and a "town mode" with a single bag.

Modular organization

The interior follows NIID's modular approach, with compartments the maker says are laid out for a laptop, tablet, smartphone, pens and cables, and structured to keep contents from shifting in transit. Beyond the main compartment, the campaign describes a back pocket, side slits and inner mesh pockets. Magnetic flaps and sliding zippers are intended to balance easy access with security.

  • Weather-resistant, high-density fabric that the maker describes as highly water-resistant
  • Partial reflective material for visibility at night
  • Internal USB cable routing pocket for charging devices from a power bank inside the bag
  • Reinforcement at high-wear points, plus attention to strap position and angle and zipper opening angle

Context

FINO V positions itself within growing demand for personal mobility such as E-Bikes and electric kick scooters, a category where conventional backpacks and business bags were not designed for mounting on a vehicle. The campaign reported more than $95,000 in backing against a $2,000 goal at the time the source page was written.
