FLOATY Dual Hammock Tent

Hammocks are light but exposed to weather; tents are sturdy but bulkier to carry. THECATAL's pitch for the FLOATY Dual Hammock Tent is to merge the two into an "all-in-one" shelter. The maker describes a lightweight two-person design with waterproofing and an integrated bug net, intended for settings from forests to wetlands.

The central claim addresses a familiar complaint about double hammocks: occupants sliding together rather than lying flat beside each other. The maker says its M-shaped suspension system and adjustable zoned webbing let two people lie side by side and flat.

One shell, two modes

According to the maker, THECATAL's single-pole shell structure keeps even tension whether the FLOATY is suspended or pitched on the ground. Ground setup uses just two stakes and two guylines, and the maker says it takes minutes. Inside, there is said to be enough height to sit up, plus dual vestibules for gear, large cross-ventilated mesh panels for airflow, and a hanging gear loft that converts into a protective groundsheet.

Suspension is handled by what the maker calls the KnotForce™ system. Paired with stability straps, it is designed to adjust from a gentle sway to fully stable, depending on preference.

Materials and add-ons

• CoatForce™ fabric: THECATAL's high-tensile, multi-layer coated material, debuting on FLOATY. The maker cites warp tensile strength of 1500N per 5cm width and water resistance exceeding 5000mm via a special lamination process, claiming it avoids the tear-strength loss associated with PU heat-pressed coatings.
• Optional hammock tripod: made from 7001 aluminum alloy and weighing 880g, versus alternatives the maker says exceed 10kg. Reinforced positioning straps and vertical tension webbing are meant to turn outward pull into downward pressure, allowing setup with one tree or none. For two people, a low hang is recommended for safety.
• FLOATY 1P: a solo version listed in the campaign, using the same KnotForce™ system, measuring 86.6 inches × 33.5 inches × 39.4 inches.
• Firefly Air Cushion (optional): a seat cushion that converts into a camping pillow, with four lighting modes, an SOS flash and a battery rated for over 8 hours. Attached to the end of a sleeping bag, it is intended to reduce the "banana bend" effect for taller campers.

The campaign lists shipping for October 2025. Modern-G has not tested the FLOATY Dual Hammock Tent; all performance figures above are the maker's own.
