GALLINE CARBON PAD 1.0

A carbon-and-graphene pad that cleans and maintains razor blades to stretch out cartridge life.

Editor’s view

Why it matters

Disposable razor cartridges tend to be thrown out long before the steel is truly worn, often because of residue, moisture and dulling. GALLINE CARBON PAD 1.0, presented as a Kickstarter project, takes aim at that cycle with a handheld pad for wiping down blades between shaves. The maker says this reduces the risk of skin irritation caused by moisture and blade deterioration, while cutting down on cartridge replacements.

How it is meant to work

The pad's surface combines carbon and graphene, which the maker describes as specially designed for polishing blades: removing grime and skin oils while preserving sharpness without damaging the edge. Randomly arranged ridges are intended to reach debris lodged between blades, and the maker cites a high friction coefficient and non-slip surface for stable cleaning, a process it calls dual deep cleaning.

The headline claim is longevity. According to the maker, a single blade can be kept in use for as long as 2 years, and one blade can be extended to the equivalent of 48 blades per year, reducing both replacement costs and disposable waste.

Key details

  • Carbon and graphene dual-material cleaning surface
