Why it matters
Sticky sheets, restless turning and an air conditioner set too cold are familiar summer-night trade-offs. The INFINITY COOL BLANKET Ⅲ is DADA Co., Ltd.'s answer: a Kickstarter project that follows the first and second generations of the series. The maker describes the concept of this third model as the refreshing feeling of being wrapped in a breeze.
Cooling and moisture control
The headline claim is a -15℃ instant cooling effect. According to the maker, it comes from combining high-cooling fibres with proprietary technology, using a material that responds dynamically to body heat and humidity to deliver a cool sensation on contact. The company says its cooling tests show the effect does not diminish after repeated washing and lasts through the night, with the cooling re-activating each time the body briefly separates from the fabric when turning over. DADA suggests this could reduce reliance on air conditioning.
Moisture management is the other pillar. The maker says moisture-absorbing fibres take up sweat quickly, while a breathable weave encourages airflow so absorbed moisture evaporates and the blanket stays dry overnight, with the aim of minimising irritation for sensitive skin.
Built for repeated use
An antibacterial and deodorising treatment has, according to DADA, passed a JIS-standard antibacterial test by a Japanese testing body, intended to inhibit mould and bacteria and limit odour in humid conditions. An anti-pilling treatment and reinforced edges are meant to preserve the surface feel and resist fraying. The blanket is machine washable with ordinary neutral detergent and, the maker says, dries quickly.
Based on user feedback from previous generations, including requests for a closer fit and better durability after washing, DADA says it revised materials and manufacturing to improve cooling performance and structural fit, resulting in a softer feel that follows the body's contours. A dedicated pouch is included for taking the blanket to the sofa, car, campsite or hotel.
