Inkanva
A full-color E Ink art canvas that reflects room light like paper and can top up its battery from indoor light.

Why it matters
Printed photos fade into the background after a few months; digital photo frames bring a glowing screen into the room. Inkanva aims to sit between the two. According to the maker, it is a full-color E Ink canvas that shows images by reflecting ambient light rather than emitting it, so on the wall it reads closer to a paper print than a display.
Paper-like color, no backlight
The panel is E Ink Spectra 6, a non-emissive electronic paper. The maker says it combines six physical pigments with dithering to widen the range of color, tone and texture, presenting photos and art with a look close to a paper print. Because the screen does not stay lit, the canvas is meant to feel less like a gadget in a living room or bedroom.
Powered partly by indoor light
On the 7.09-inch and 13.3-inch models, a magnetic perovskite charging panel on the back draws on room light and lighting to supplement the battery. Combined with E Ink's low power draw while holding an image, the maker positions this as a way to hang the canvas without a charging cable running down the wall or tying placement to an outlet.
Software, AI and open control
The Inkanva app lets users pick a photo from their phone, preview the crop and send it to the frame over Wi-Fi, browse works in World Gallery, and control connected frames remotely. The campaign also describes AI creative tools: generating art from conversation, expanding drawn lines into artwork, text-to-image generation, and voice input with adjustment of results. Beyond the app, Inkanva supports Local HTML Mode, OpenAPI and Home Assistant; via OpenAPI, an AI agent can handle selecting or generating works and scheduling which frame shows what, when, including playlists and repeating schedules. The maker also mentions showing weather or calendar information.
Frames and sizes
A standard aluminum frame can be fitted with interchangeable decorative outer frames that attach and detach independently of the display. Three sizes are planned:
- 7.09-inch: 15.7×11.7cm display area, 1200×1600, 280PPI, 3:4, perovskite charging
- 13.3-inch: 28.5×20.9cm display area, 1200×1600, 150PPI, 3:4, perovskite charging
- 28.5-inch: 65.3×42.4cm display area, 2160×3060, 131PPI, 12:17, IGZO HD technology
The maker frames the 7.09-inch model for desks and shelves, the 13.3-inch for wall art in living rooms and bedrooms, and the 28.5-inch as a larger centerpiece for those prioritizing display area over self-charging.
