Carryup founder Ryan set out to fix a familiar annoyance: conventional carts tend to be bulky and awkward to carry and store. According to the company's story, an early concept borrowed from ambulance stretchers, letting cargo slide straight into a car's trunk. Differences in trunk heights and structural problems made that impractical, and after repeated prototypes and design revisions the idea evolved into the current Kangaroo Porter.

Storage at waist height

The maker says the cart's bag holds 70 liters, which the source compares to a 26-inch suitcase. That is pitched as enough room for a power station, laptop, camera, shoes, clothing and snacks in one load. Because the cargo rides at waist height, the design aims to reduce repeated bending, and a wide storage base with a fully opening lid is meant to make items easy to find and retrieve.

Loading, tabletop and folding

According to the maker, the cart is designed to load into a car without lifting heavy cargo, and to keep items stable while moving. A tabletop sits on top for setting things down, including on the move, with campsite meals or work given as examples.
