Why it matters

Hydrogen water bottles are a crowded niche, and KeryLove is pitching its Sports Water Bottle on engineering detail. The 33.8oz (approx. 1L) bottle is built around three principles the project page emphasizes: durability, ease of use and scientific grounding.

Electrolysis at the core

The maker says the bottle uses a PEM/SPE (solid polymer electrolyte) electrolysis system pairing a 1mm ion-exchange membrane with platinum-titanium electrodes. Unlike conventional alkaline electrolysis, KeryLove claims, this approach produces high-purity hydrogen without generating impurities. Three concentration modes (low, medium, high) switch output within the 2,000–3,000 ppb range, and a demonstration video on the project page shows room-temperature tap water reaching maximum concentration within 3 minutes. The maker also describes a proprietary catalyst system intended to break down trace by-products created during generation.

Body, cap and battery

  • Body in Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, which the maker describes as BPA-free, impact-resistant and meeting safety standards comparable to infant products
  • One-touch cap optimized for one-handed use, opening to 135 degrees
  • Base LED indicator that shifts from blue to green to show generation progress
  • 7.5cm diameter cylinder sized for car cup holders and bag side pockets
  • Built-in 2000mAh lithium-ion battery rated for up to 30 generation cycles per full charge (approx. 4 hours)
  • Five-step LED battery gauge and a magnetic USB-C charging port with a seal against dust and water

Sustainability and roadmap

KeryLove points to a replaceable electrode unit (replacement recommended every 2 years) and 100% recyclable Tritan™ as its environmental case, alongside packaging that uses 60% recycled plastic and an "eco mode shipping" option the maker says cuts packing materials by 70%. The campaign also outlines a used-unit collection program starting in Europe, as well as planned features including cartridge-based mineral addition and smartwatch-linked concentration adjustment. It mentions joint research with a German sports medicine institute and a grip design it says was recognized in the Red Dot Design Concept award in 2023.

The project page also cites survey-style figures on post-exercise muscle soreness and sleep quality among participants. These are the maker's claims; Modern-G has not verified them, and any health effects of hydrogen water should be treated with caution.
