Why it matters

According to the maker, KeyGo grew out of the development team's frustration at watching mobile users juggle a keyboard, a stand and a screen just to get simple work done. The answer they propose is one device that folds, displays, responds to touch and types.

A keyboard with a screen on top

The core idea is a 12.8-inch fully laminated glass display sitting above a scissor-switch keyboard. The maker says the screen supports ten-finger touch, so gestures such as swiping to switch, pinching to zoom and dragging files can stand in for mouse clicks, while the keys handle quiet, precise typing. The display is described as syncing with the main screen to act as a second monitor.

  • Resolution: 1920×720
  • Color gamut: 72% NTSC, with IPS dark-state technology
  • Refresh rate: 60Hz
  • Contrast ratio: 800:1 (lab-calibrated, per the maker)
  • Folding: 180 degrees; 324mm when folded
  • Weight: 800g
  • Body: CNC anodized aluminum
  • Ports: dual Type-C (one full-function, one power-only), plus USB-A to A support

Connectivity and lighting

The campaign lists compatibility with Windows, macOS and Android, naming desktops, laptops, MacBook and Mac mini among supported hosts, along with phones and tablets. The maker positions it particularly for desktop and mini PC users who want an extra display above the keyboard, and suggests it can add touch input to older devices. Three backlight modes are toggled with FN + Q/W/E: a breathing gradient, a single-color backlight and a rainbow wave that shifts with keystrokes.

Suggested uses include turning a tablet into a mobile workstation, showing guides or macros for gamers, adjusting settings and dragging assets for creators, and, according to the maker, settings such as medical environments and vehicles, aided by a design it describes as easy to keep clean and suitable for car mounting.

Production status

The team says prototyping and small-batch testing are complete, and that the aluminum body has passed durability testing. It also acknowledges that scaling up to mass production may still present challenges.
