Why it matters
Most digital frames are small screens trying to pass as pictures. Galari takes a different route: it uses E-paper instead of an LCD or LED panel, and the maker says it uses no backlight at all. The aim is a display with the look and texture of real paper that sits quietly on a wall rather than glowing into the room.
A reflective display instead of a glowing one
Because E-paper relies on reflected light, the maker says Galari stays clearly visible under natural light, including near a window during the day or in a lit room. It also states that the frame emits no blue light, positioning it as easy on the eyes for long viewing and suitable for the wind-down period before bed. The frame itself is described as using natural wood and museum-grade photo mats, intended to make it read as a piece of décor rather than a gadget.
Art that changes on its own
Galari connects to a cloud library over Wi-Fi. According to the maker, it offers thousands of curated artworks, and the displayed piece can update automatically every day, every hour, or when you glance at it. The company also describes an "infinite exhibition" tailored to each user's preferences.
- Display your own photos and designs, or upload albums and individual works to build a personal "exhibition"
- Share work and browse other users' pieces through Galari's online community
- Show everyday information such as weather, time and traffic
- Low power consumption via a proprietary algorithm and E-paper, which the maker says costs far less to run than LCD-based digital photo frames
The maker also points to possible future directions, including NFT art integration and AI-driven personalization, though these are framed as potential developments rather than current features.
